Our journey began with our founder, Akshat, whose initial career involved selling plastic resin to manufacturers across Western India. During this time, he witnessed the immense amount of plastic waste being generated. The government's plastic ban and EPR policies, intended to force manufacturers to recycle waste, unfortunately failed to improve recycling rates or significantly reduce plastic waste. Akshat realized that true change required innovation in both products and packaging. This understanding, combined with the global push for sustainability, inspired him to create Shunyam. The aim was to offer sustainable, plastic-free alternatives to conventional personal care products, paving the way for a greener future.
